Copiun was founded in 2008 by two data protection veterans both with over a decade in service at EMC and a combined 20+ years in backup and recovery solutions. Knowing what the data protection industry offered and after surveying a number of companies and analysts, it was determined that there was really no solution that could effectively protect endpoint (laptop & desktop) data without some drawback such as slowing down end users’ machines, bandwidth bottlenecks, or users ignoring policies. It was also learned that audit controls and eDiscovery tools were increasing in demand and would prompt the need for an end-to-end technology that would address the demands of all stakeholders, namely, business, IT and end users.
